HNU strengthens its innovation network: Six new strategic partners on board

09.12.2025, Press Release :

Achieving more together: Six companies from the region are joining the HNU's strategic partner network, which now comprises a total of 16 partners. The aim is to drive innovation, intensify knowledge transfer and strengthen the supply of skilled workers in the region in the long term. The agreements were signed on 8 December in the Innovation Space at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU).

With the expansion of the network founded in 2023, which covers the regional mix of industries, HNU is pursuing a clear approach: the university and industry are pooling their expertise to jointly master current challenges such as digitalisation, internationalisation and the shortage of skilled workers. The collaborations create a platform for practical teaching, applied research and the exchange of know-how.

New partners enrich the network

The six new strategic partners are: Seeberger GmbH, Uhlmann Group Holding GmbH & Co. KG, Ulrich GmbH & Co. KG, Ulm University Hospital, Wieland-Werke AG and Zimmer MedizinSysteme GmbH.

They complement the existing network, which includes Beurer GmbH, BITE GmbH, HENSOLDT Sensors GmbH, Liebherr Group, PERI SE, Seifert Logistics GmbH, SGP Schneider Geiwitz, Spherea GmbH, Teva GmbH and UZIN UTZ SE.

Cooperation with Win-win

On Monday, 8 December, the strategic partners gathered at HNU, where the new network members signed the cooperation agreement.

Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser, President of HNU, welcomed the company representatives to HNU's Innovation Space. “For us, strategic partnerships are more than just collaborations – they are the key to learning from each other, driving innovation and achieving greater success together. With six new partners, we are expanding our network to create new impetus for research, transfer and practice-oriented teaching.”

The corporate partners also emphasised the potential of the collaboration. Christoph Ulrich, Managing Director of ulrich medical, said: "The strategic partnership with HNU is an important step for us in further intensifying the exchange between practice and science. Together, we can develop innovative solutions that not only advance our industry but also strengthen the region."

The network is based on HNU's proven corporate partnerships. Future joint activities will take place in the areas of teaching and continuing education (e.g. through projects and scholarships for students), knowledge and technology transfer (e.g. through exchanges on research-related topics) and research (e.g. through joint research projects).
